PRX150-Pro Power Attenuator Audio and Video Clips - Page 4
Carl Fiadino
Carl was kind enough to record and send us the following clips. He used his PRX150-Pro to record his cranked up 100 watt amplifiers at relatively low volume levels.
We asked Carl about the PRX150-Pro attenuator settings as used in the recordings. Here is his response:
"MAX attenuation! It may sound loud in the vid, but somebody was upstairs watching TV undisturbed!
Even at MAX attenuation, I DID NOT have to adjust the amp to compensate like I had to with the (brand x passive and y active attenuators)"
Listen carefully, the speaker's volume level is so low, you can occasionally hear the mic picking up Carl's pick across the strings.
Cranked up Reinhardt 100 watter, recorded at a relatively low volume level:
Equipment used for the above clips:
Reinhardt V-100 (100 watt) amp, PRX150-Pro, Marshall Vintage Modern 4x12 cab with the Celestion G12C, Yngwie Strat, Analogman DS-1, Eventide Timefactor and a Zoom Q3 Recorder.
Cranked up Reeves 100 watter, recorded at a relatively low volume level:
Equipment used for the above clips:
Reeves CP-103 (100 watt) amp, PRX150-Pro, Marshall Vintage Modern 4x12 cab with the Celestion G12C, Yngwie Strat, Effectrode Tubevibe, Boss DS-1, YJM-308, Eventide Timefactor and a Zoom Q3 Recorder.
Carl's comments on the PRX150-Pro:
"The PRX150-Pro is extremely transparent. Best attenuator I ever used. If the attenator wasn't "on" this amp (Reeves CP-103 100 watt) is LOUDER THAN HELL!! Loudest amp I ever owned!"
Be sure and check back. We will soon be adding additional clips from Carl, that will feature other high end amps from his collection along with the PRX150-Pro in action.
