What our customers are saying about the DRX Attenuator:
The DRX allows me to get the best guitar sound possible from any of the amps I own at a resonable volume levels without sacrificing my sound.
This DRX sounds amazing!
The Aracom attenuation technology is the most transparent that Ive tested
I really love this new (DRX) attenuator!
I am VERY impressed by the sound quality of this attenuator. I have expected much after all the positive reviews on net but I didn't expect it to be THAT great!!!
There's no way I could record great sounding guitar tracks in my studio without the DRX, it's very transparent and it sounds amazing with all my amps!
The boost feature is an absolute god-send!
... sound amazing and we become best friends
Not only the DRX sounds better than any attenuator on the market, but the new features, like the ability to boost the volume of your amp with a foot pedal,puts it in a class of it's own!
The DRX get's me the cranked tones I need at low volumes with any one of my amps.
Thanks for making such a product, it was exactly what I was looking for.
Excellent job, thank's a million!
The DRX is a tool that will let me ensure that I keep the tone that Ive worked so hard to achieve.
The Dual Rox "DRX" Power Attenuator, is compact, versatile and utilizes ARACOM's innovative,
patent pending "Dynamic Control" attenuation technology providing highly transparent power attenuation.
* Foot switchable rhythm and lead volume levels
* Control channel selection and two separate attenuation levels with channel switching amplifiers
* Remote channel switching between clean and dirty tones with "old school" non-channel switching amplifiers
* Line Out allows for tracking the rhythm and lead volume levels
* Compact, lightweight design
The Dual Rox Power Attenuator (Model: DRX)
Product Highlights:
* Foot switch controls two separate attenuation levels. Allowing for separate rhythm and lead/boost levels.
* Three types of foot switches available:
Type A: Standard foot switch, allows for switching between the separate Rhythm and Boost volume levels with any amplifier.
Type B: Allows for switching between the separate Rhythm and Boost volume levels, while simultaneously switching channels on amplifiers equipped with the channel switching feature.
One channel can be set for clean tones with the DRX attenuator set for minimum attenuation. The other channel can be "cranked up" and the DRX attenuator's other setting can be adjusted for an appropriate volume level.
Type C: A/B foot switch, allows for channel switching between "clean" and "dirty" tones on non channel switching amplifiers that have two individual channels, while simultaneously switching between the two separate DRX attenuation levels..
For example: With an "old school" Marshall or Fender amplifier, the volume knob of one channel can be set for clean tones with minimum attenuation, allowing for maximum clean headroom. The volume knob of the amplifier's other channel
can be "cranked up" for overdriven tones with the desired amount of attenuation to control the overall volume level. The A/B foot switch, switches between the amplifier's channels, while simultaneously switching between the two separate attenuation levels.
* Patent Pending Attenuation design.
* Proprietary Variable Dynamic Control (VDC) Technology. The 5 position Rotary Switch allows fine tuning of the overall tone.
* Passive attenuation design, with active level switching.
* The Continuous Variable Attenuation rotary knobs control the majority of the attenuation range. Two separate Variable Attenuation rotary controls provided. One for the
Rhythm volume level and one for the lead/boost volume level. Rhythm attenuation range: 4 to 30db. Lead/boost attenuation range: 2 to 30dB.
* 40dB of overall attenuation (Bedroom Mode)
* 150 watt power rating
* Impedance selector switch for 4, 8, 16 ohm operation
* Line Out with Switching Potentiometer/Mini Toggle Switch - Raw or Speaker "EQ'ed Line Output Signal
* Load Mode setting, for speakerless operation
* Rack Mount Option
* Compact, lightweight design
* Handwired in the USA
The DRX attenuator allows the user to preset one attenuation level for a lower rhythm volume level and a second attenuation level for a higher volume "lead "level, then foot switch between the two volume levels.
Old School Amplifiers: Many guitarists playing through an "old school" non-channel switching amp, like to roll back on their guitar's volume knob, reducing the amp's overdrive, to produce clean tones and roll up the knob for overdriven tones. For live performance, the clean volume level is often too low, when compared to the overdriven volume level. With the DRX attenuator's Type "A" foot switch, the user can switch between minimum attenuation, for the clean tones, when the guitar's volume knob is rolled back and a higher attenuation level, for the overdriven tones, when the guitar's volume knob is rolled up. This allows the user to match the clean and overdriven volume levels.
Also for Old School amplifiers, the Type "C" foot switch is available. The Type "C" foot switch incorporates an A/B box, that switches the guitar's signal to two different inputs on the amplifier, while simultaneously switching between the two separate DRX attenuation levels. The DRX attenuator with the Type "C" foot switch allows for channel switching between "clean" and "dirty" tones. One channel on the amplifier can be set for clean tones with minimum attenuation, allowing for maximum clean headroom. The amplifier's other channel can be "cranked up" for overdriven tones with the desired amount of attenuation for the appropriate overdriven volume level.
Channel Switching Amplifiers: Many channel switching amplifiers utilize a Master Volume Control for the "dirty" channel. However, heavy use of the Master Volume Control reduces power tube distortion, creating only preamp tube distortion, which can often have a negative impact on the tone. The DRX attenuator with its' Type "B" foot switch, allows the Master Volume Knob to be "cranked" back up, creating the much desired power tube distortion and restores the amp's tone.
With the DRX's ' Type "B" foot switch , One channel can be set for clean tones with the DRX attenuator set for minimum attenuation. The other channel can be "cranked up" and the DRX attenuator's other setting can be adjusted for an appropriate volume level.
Guitar gear review site guitargear.org, gives the ARACOM DRX attenuator a rating of 5 out of 5 bones!.
Here is an except from the review: " The Aracom attenuation technology is the most transparent that Ive tested and Ive tested and used several over the years. Nothing comes close.
But the dual-level attenuation (normal and boost modes) blows away the competition in my book. Then add variable reactance to the mix, and theres nothing that can even touch what this attenuator can do."
